During the discussion, 4 major topics are included: Industry Infrastructure, Medical Devices, Biotechnology in Agriculture and Green Food, and Pharmaceutical Industry.
Information Technology and Telecoms Group:It is agreed that Taiwanese and UK companies should seek potential collaboration in undertaking EU projects. The areas of third-generation (3G) networks, convergence of wireless networks and mobile communications, and digital contents were identified for further collaboration between the Taiwan and UK business communities.
Infrastructure Group:The discussion aims to exploit business opportunities with UK-Taiwan joint efforts in the third country, and to exchange views on the feasible collaboration opportunities in the “Ten New Projects,” and “High Speed Rail Projects”. After UK’s visit to HSR site, there was clearly an opportunity to establish a consortium of Taiwanese and UK companies for participation in Taiwan public projects.
