Important Conclusion & Agreements:
Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Group: The Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals Industry is one of four sectors receiving priority under the Taiwanese National Development Plan. Through the efforts of the government and private sectors, a close bond has been formed between Taiwan and the fast growing Asian markets. UK’s Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry with well-developed incubator facilities, clusters and Science Park, has a leading role in Europe. To add values to all the partners, the online platform for effective networking, communications and information sharing should be created.
Information and Communications Technology Group: UK’s strength is emphasized in design, research and development while the cutting edge of Taiwan is production and marketing. Through technology transfer and convergence, more opportunities for collaboration may be exploited, particularly for the case of wireless networks, mobile technology and Digital Content.
Infrastructure Group: After the successful cases of Tesco, B&Q and MFI, there are still further opportunities in Taiwan market worthy of exploring for UK retailers.
