Dr. Shyue-Ching Lu, President of Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd.

Dr. Lu received the B.E. degree in engineering science from National Chengkung University in 1970 and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii in 1976. After graduation, Dr. Lu joined Telecommunication Laboratories (TL), the research arm of the Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT), assuming positions such as research engineer, director & project manager, deputy managing director, and ultimately managing director of TL in 1986 and for the next 7 years. From 1993-1994, Dr. Lu was Director-General of Department of Posts and Telecommunications, Ministry of Transportation and Communications. Dr. Lu took the position of Deputy Director-General of DGT from July 1994 to June 1996. Dr. Lu was named to the present position on July 1, 1996 when Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. was established to sustain the operating responsibilities of former DGT during an organizational reshuffling to split the operational functions from the regulatory role.

Summary of Professional Experience :
In August 1973, Mr. Yu joined China Technical Consultants Inc. (currently renamed as CTCI Foundation), the predecessor of CTCI Corporation. During his working with CTCI Foundation and CTCI Corporation for 34 years, with his outstanding performance involved in the sectors of engineering, procurement, sales & marketing, Mr. Yu was promoted step-by-step from Manager, Vice President, Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, President until the Chairman of CTCI Corporation. Starting from the entry level, Mr. Yu has been advanced with the growth of CTCI. He became a professional manager with comprehensive experience and strong insight into the global market of the engineering and construction business.@ With full devotion and strong leadership, Mr. Yu has led CTCI Group of 4,800 employees to achieve remarkable records. In year 2006, the Groups new contracts reached NT$70 billion, all-time high in the history. Moreover, the consolidated revenue of NT$33 billion for year 2006 also stands at a new record. With large market shares and numerous business in Taiwan, China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, CTCI has turned out to be the largest integrated engineering firm in Taiwan with the global ranking top 66 according to ENR. Dedicated to the development of Taiwan, Mr. Yu has been vigorously engaged in the activities in supporting the government for the economic growth and foreign trade, besides his commitment to CTCIs sustainable operation. Mr. Yu has participated in many economic and trade delegations to build up concrete relationships via business cooperation with various countries.

To formulate the long-term development of CTCI and to be ranked the top 50 in ENR, Mr. Yu set up CTCIs vision in year 2000 : To become a leading global provider of engineering services and innovative technologies as well as CTCIs long term goal: To reach NT$100 billion of revenue in year 2010.

Bill Rankin has spent 35 years in civil engineering. He obtained his BSc and MSc degrees in Newcastle and Durham respectively in the early 70s. He worked for the civil engineering contractor Norwest Holst for four years in Leeds before joining Mott Hay and Anderson in Croydon in 1976.

He worked on the Channel Tunnel (85-88) project selecting the alignment of the tunnels. He was seconded to Union Rail in 93/94 to form their design team for the initial surveys and alignment for the high speed Rail Link from London to the tunnel.

More recently in 2000, he was appointed a Director of the Metros and Civils team and from 2001 he was also Regional Director for Asia Pacific. He has worked in many Asia-Pacific countries, living with his family in Java for three years in the early 80s. He has worked in Iran, Europe, North America and the UK. He is currently MD International for Mott MacDonald, looking after some 2000 staff and G55m of turnover. He travels extensively visiting Europe, the Gulf, India and Pakistan, as well as various countries in Asia Pacific including Taiwan.

Zarir Cama joined the HSBC Group forty years ago and has worked for the Group in India, the UK, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia, holding senior directorships and positions.?
He was the first Indian to head the Groups operations in India and the first Asian in Malaysia.

He is a committed environmentalist, a passionate conservationist and an advocate of the Arts.

He was conferred the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (D.S.P.N.), which carries the title Dato, by the Governor of Penang in July 2006. In April 2007 he was conferred the Dato Paduka Mahkota Perak (D.P.M.P.) by the Sultan of Perak on the occasion of His Majestys 79th Birthday, the only foreign banker to have been so honoured.

Zarir Cama was born in Bombay, India on 26 May 1947 and is married to Shelialla and they have two children.
